Frequently asked questions
-
I offer in-home dog training throughout the southwest Portland metro area, generally within about 30 minutes of Sherwood. This includes Sherwood, Tualatin, Tigard, King City, Wilsonville, Newberg, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Southwest Portland, and parts of Beaverton, as well as nearby communities. If you’re not sure whether you’re in my service area, just ask! I also offer virtual dog training nationwide.

My approach is evidence-based and centered on positive reinforcement, rewarding your dog for the things we want them to do more often and teaching them what to do instead of the things we don’t. I don’t use shock, prong, or choke collars, or training methods that rely on fear, pain, or intimidation.

You don’t need to prepare much. If your dog has favorite treats or toys, have those handy. You’re also welcome to bring any questions you have or training equipment you’d like me to take a look at.
